Mechanical
Properties and Bioactive Characteristics of Glass-Ceramics
Crystallization behavior of SiO2-CaO-MgO (Na2O) bulk glasses
containing WO3 and Fe2O3 nucleants was investigated.
XRD results showed that the main crystalline phases in this system were wollastonite
particles and diopside fibers, the latter of which increased its strength and
toughness. P. Alizadeh and V.K. Marghussian
Structural Transistions
in Glasses and Glassforming Liquids
Brillouin light scattering was used for the investigation of glassforming systems
of variable fragility, with the objective to elucidate the glass transistion
phenomenon. A theoretical model was developed that provides consistent description
of the temperature dependence of real and imaginary mechanical moduli of all
the systems investigated. John Kieffer
Effect
of Melting Atmospheres on Ceria-Doped Germanate Glasses
The ultraviolet and visible transmission spectra of Ce3+-doped germanate
glasses containing Gd2O3, BaO, SnO2 or La2O3 prepared
in air, in nitrogen or in nitrogen plus graphite atmospheres were investigated. Shan Wang, Guorong Chen, Yongjuan Du, Hua Wang, Stefania Baccaro and Angelica
